RESEARCH

Since 1989, my research has been organised around interdisciplinary questions that quite naturally led me to the Catastrophe Theory Semiotics.

The last two decades of my intellectual career corresponds to the preparation of the bases of an interdisciplinary model, tied to the modelling of Thom and of Brandt,

applied to territorial and societal subjects.

During the course of this decade, the academic recognition of my work has intensified considerably by numerous invitations to participate in international networks of related research. I have been invited as an editor, as organiser of well-established international congresses, to occupy positions of responsibility in international associations, and to open congresses as the keynote speaker.

“Isabel is a great organizer in the field of semiotics and a great defender of dynamic semiotics. Her never flailing passional work for progress in the development of space semiotics, urbano-architectural semiotics, and catastrophe-based modelling is unique. And she is such a nice person, additionally.”
